Browse our Residential Solar Systems
Depending on your home and power usage you might opt for a different sized system. The most common residential solar system is definitely the 6.6kW system covering a large party of your daily solar consumption while still enabling you to sell your excess power back to the system.
6.6kW Solar Power System
The most popular solar-powered system for most homes.
Depending on your daily energy usage we find our customers’ panels pay for themselves in 3-5 years’ time.
7.7kW Solar Power System
Perfect for the larger household, as well as commercial businesses.
Your roof will require a fair bit of additional space.
10.38kW Solar Power System
Designed for those higher power consumers, home businesses, and those who love their spa.
13.28kW Solar Power System
Perhaps unnecessary for the typical residential home, however depending on your energy needs, it’s always better to get a slightly bigger system than you require.
Frequently Asked Questions About Perth Solar Systems
We get a lot of calls and customers tend to ask similar questions. Here we hope to answer some of yours.
What is a grid-connect solar power system?
A grid-connect solar power system consists of a number of solar panels, usually mounted on your roof, which are connected together to form a string. This is then connected to an inverter which outputs 240v power that you can use in your home. Energy generated over what you are using will be exported to the electricity grid.
How much will I be paid for energy I send to the electricity grid?
Pricing for energy rebates are currently changing for Western Australia
Will all generated power be sent to the electricity grid?
No. In Western Australia we have a net metering arrangement. The electricity you generate is used to supply your own energy requirements and any excess generation not used in your home is exported to the grid.
Will a solar power system completely eliminate my electricity bill?
In a low feed-in tariff environment, the best return from your investment will be for a system that generates enough power to cover what you use during the time that the solar system is operating. You will still need to pay for power used at night and the daily service charge.
If you want to be completely independent of the system you will need to opt for a solar & battery package.
Is my house suitable for solar panels?
Not all houses are suitable for solar panels. An adequately sized roof area facing the right direction which is unshaded for most of the day will be required. A free site inspection and quotation is the best way to determine this.
Will the solar system power my house if there is a power blackout?
No. It is a safety requirement of all grid-connect inverters that they shut down if they sense a loss of power from the electricity grid. If you want to be indepenent of the grid, you’ll need a solar & battery package.
Will my switchboard need to be upgraded?
In most cases no, however a site inspection will determine if any changes are needed, and this will be included in any quotation we prepare for you.
How are solar panels installed on a flat roof?
Solar panels need to be tilted so normal rainfall will keep them clean. Special tilt frames are used when panels are installed on a flat or very shallow angle roof.
How much maintenance do solar panels require?
As there are no moving parts, solar panel systems do not require a lot of maintenance. However we recommend that they be inspected every two years to ensure that no deterioration has occurred, and that you do regular solar panel cleaning.
What happens when it’s cloudy or raining?
The solar system will still generate some power under these conditions but the output will be greatly reduced. Most of your power needs will be drawn from the grid.
What happens at night?
The solar power system shuts down at night as there is no output from the solar panels. Generally there will be no lights on at the solar inverter. All your power needs will be drawn from the grid.
How much does a solar power system cost?
This will vary depending upon the quality of components used and the construction of your house. To obtain an accurate quotation, simply request a free site inspection.
How long does it take to install solar on my home?
This will depend upon the size of the solar system. We take care with the installation to ensure it is done properly and will normally allow a day for a small system (up to 2kW), and two days for a larger system (up to 5kW).
